I obviously didn't pick her up as a pup and start beating her with sticks did I. I did everything that you usually do like commands and having her recall and stuff but it just never clicked with her. She's two and a half and has only just got the idea of coming back to me. You will read that post and think I haven't tried hard enough but that's not the case. I've been trying with her solid every day for all this time.

 

It's supposed to be a fun and enjoyable thing to see them grow and learn and get their first run and catch but this has just been nothing but stress and a complete wind up.

I've found training a dog takes a fair bit of patience and consistency, when you start playing mind games you're on to a loser straight away! when you start beating them with a stick you seriously need to be giving the dog to someone else and taking up another hobby that doesn't involve animals.....just my opinion!

She's a bull grey beddy whipp with some saluki just to mess her up a bit more. Over 2 year old now and has only just started to even think slightly about what the frig she is doing.

Just my opinion, but none of this sounds purely down to just the owners............this sounds like unsound stock, did you know the blood behind your dogs before you got them lads?

Rob if you read most of the training tips on here you will see that there are a lot of people who give loads of advice but when nothing works they all say the same thing, "seems like she needs a good slap to sort her out" and whoever says differently are liars.

 

So the question is this, when nothing works what are you supposed to do? And no bollocks like go back to basics because I've done this so many times my balls ache.

She is alright at night on the lamp ie seeing them and she has done a bit last season but now is dropping them and generally being a tit. the last 6 months has Been total shite with her and she's just lost it.

how about giving her a break from it completely for a while? might kick start her next time you take her hunting?
