Have you been to one?   Some toffs on a horse chasing a poor old fox untill it's exhausted then 'ripped to shreds by wild dogs'.   Sound familiar?   FTB

apart from the above, and it not really 1 man against a fit strong bull, as its lost alot of blood+strenght before it faces the matador. i dont mind what they do in there own country regards (there )

i would be all for that mate.but that is very seldom the case.these animals are bred to be shot, they are fed by keepers and basically not shy towards humans.there hardly wild animals well not in the r

Its not really for me,but each to there own i wouldnt go out my way to watch it,what gets me is the shit spouted by some folk in the uk.as someone who worked on the killing floor of a slaughter house and we had to stick to strict rules in the killing of livestock.yet on the other hand the same legislation was conviently put aside when it came to halaal meat.so there argument saying "in the uk if animals are to be killed, they are killed humanly.utter bollocks when it comes to the islam shower.

if a law concerning the slaughter of animals is to be done with min of stress, then that law should be across the boards,so the welfare of an animal is not as important when it comes to some bullshit religion.

Never enjoyed the spears side of things but a man testing his wits against a strong very unhappy beast of a bull would be a real fasinating to watch.....

also i read somewhere, that they sever the tendons in its neck,so the beast cant lift its head properly.dont know if this is true or just anti propaganda.

That is true: it is the picadors who repeatedly thrust small spears into the neck to weaken the muscle so that the matador can get in safely to finally kill the bull. I've seen quite a few bullfights when I lived in the South of France, just over the border from Catalonia. Its a weird sort of thing: everything tells me that it is cruel, unjustified etc. But when you actually sit there, watching the men, horses and bulls going through the whole process, there is something awesome and compelling in the spectacle. I couldn't watch the horses getting injured though:made me feel sick. But there is something about the bulls, huge, blundering beasts, though somehow amazing and beautiful. Preprogrammed to obey their instincts, which are manipulated by men.

I doubt I could watch one today: I was a lot younger then, in my twenties. Life seems cheaper when you are young.

I wouldnt turn down an opportunity to see one. Logically it appears an outdated cruel tradition carried on for no reason other than tradition and culture.

However, as with hunting, there is a raw beauty behind the cruelty if you are open minded enough to see it...

I watch it on TV maybe once a week, the local bullring to me has closed down,it was part of spanish culture just as foxhunting was part of british culture, but I dont think spanish youth nowadays are interested in it.
