You've tried him on short slips and he seems to be just not there yet. I would rest him up and carry on with your excercise programme for a while yet before going back out. Quote Link to post

Moll. 1,770 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 You could turn the light off, at some point the dog and leverett will have a decent gap between them safely in an open part of the field It is never as simple as that though, perhaps in theory but rarely in practice with a very driven dog. Could not on that particular night anyway, it was light enough for me to be able to see the dogs so the dog would have been able to see the prey even without the lamp. Small fields surrounded with barbed wire fences....been lamping here for enough years now to know what the outcome could have been had i switched the lamp off Quote Link to post
