Moll. 1,770
Again great conditions, but nothing out. Ran his first rabbit, boxed it back and forwards along a fence line, stopping it from entering 5 times. Then went to strike, and his back legs seemed to shoot backwards, he slipped and missed and it got through the fence. The 2nd one he caught no probs, not much of a run and grabbed it just as it got into cover. The third ended up being a rabbit sized leveret i mistook for a rabbit It ran him ragged, he did strike at it once and again his back legs seemed to slip out behind him? Going to be a while before Rude boy is properly up and running Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
As for the leverett why didn't you turn the lamp off? That is a silly coment mate..you can turn the beam of with experienced dog's ..but a young dog of that build and drive will run blind out of the beam and probably end it's hunting's day's ..so in sensible reality Moll done the right thing by keeping the lamp on.. 123456 146
You could turn the light off, at some point the dog and leverett will have a decent gap between them safely in an open part of the field Quote Link to post
