They have to have proof of you doing something illegal before they can confiscate anything go down tommorow and kick up a fuss. You were not breaking the law so he had no right legal or otherwise to re

You'll still have that number even if you were blagging it when they came out though :hmm: .....and they are still wasting time when coming out and i thought the whole point in giving them a heads up was to stop wasting there time and your evening?? Surely a password would be better but they would have to make it compulsary for anyone lamping on permission had to notify the police before heading out. Sounds like more work for the police and a pain in the arse for any lampers...

just bein caught by plod whilst out lamping permision about 1,30 am what a jobs worth he was after telling him i had permision i was told i was probly a liar he called for back up 2 miniutes later another 3 squad cars pull up one young officer claiming huntinh whith dogs were alegal and the dog should be destroyed after checking realising rabbits were ok and him feeling a numpty isaid id ring the farmer who when woken was not a happy chappy okd it all. when officer realised i had permision turned all sour and told me hed have to confiscate my lamp as he had suspisions id been on other land whithout permision leaving me saving for a new lamp which will take me a couple of months what a load of arse holes and a waste of taxpayers money do we not have proper crimes anymore

i aint read all the replys but if your on permission then being caught is not the case is it,they confirmed your permission with the farmer so then id think it was end of story absolute no right to take anything off you,now if you just rolled on your belly and gave it up thats a different matter as you said copper not even sure of the law but last thing id be doing is handing them any equipment i may have, id be in the motor with it on the way to the station if they wanted to take it that far.

iv been stopped plenty times over the years, stopped not caught out, and to be fair hastle free everytime

cant see it myself if you ring the police phone they ask you which station/desk you want lost/stolen/custody suite o a copper then who would you ask for or speak to then if they did the police would have to speak to the farmer then get it put out on all the car computers and i doubt they would give you an incident report just incase an incident happen and i recon the lamp is gone you have no proof they took it as you didnt get a confiscation sheet saying they have took it and for what reason  atb though

true story this. agood few years ago 3 mates of mine were off out for as nights lamping with the rimfires. for whotever the reason they informed the police of whot they were doing,in whot area they would be in and roughtly whot time, ALL GOOD YOU MIGHT THINK, less than an hour after getting into the fields they were swooped upon by 5 armed officers and the helicopter, armed police place the weopon on the ground the full monty. they all swear to this day that they were used as an excersise for the armed response unit.

If you're going on permission, just call the local station and get an incident number, saves a lot of hassle. Me and Mally were glad we had one when a farmer who saw us lamping his neighbours land, (which we had permission on ), set about us with a 4 wheel drive and a baseball bat !! LOL !!

Cheers.

Hi mate, you should have asked for a reciept for your lamp and told him you would call at the station in the morning to collect it, I think I would be calling in anyway to ask what has happened to your lamp and ask for an explanation as to why it was taken from you when you were on land that you had permition to be on,and take along your written permition, also may be worth asking what evidence they had to accuse you of being on other land with your lamp,I would not just let it go.

:victory: :victory: :victory: :victory: :victory: dead right.

Think they would put 2+2 together when the farmer phones in to say that someone is on thier land and up in scotland i think the police run a check to make sure you are who you say you are.... name, address and dob,I have also been asked for my mobile phone number should they require to contact me while I am on the permition ,I have permition on a few pieces of land I inform the police when I arrive and give them a time that I will be off the land and I have also arranged with the farmers that i will call or text prior to any lamping trip therefore if I dont call or text then they calls the old bill if they see a lamp ....seems to work for me.
