hi

can someone tell me if its bad for your dog to feed them raw meat and dry(not in the same feed),

ie dry in the morn and a raw bone or something else in the evening,,i was asked this question today by a friend and i didnt have a clue but im sure that ive read something thatit can cause problems

Catagorically Yes, I'd say, mate.

 

But take that greasy, carcinogenic waste product crap out of the equation, stick with the raw flesh and bone? He'll be onto a winner

Mine get raw and complete mixed. Always fed raw only, mashed raw veg, oil and bran. But one of them especially looked terrible on it.

The main portion is raw with a small amount of complete, and they get lamb bones, whole rabbits, almost daily. They have never look or acted as fit as they do now.

You have to see what is best for your dog.....100% raw is of course the most natural and healthiest diet you can give.

completley agree with you there Molly, my dogs are positivley shining on a simular diet. :thumbs-up:Forgot to mention though, the dry food, i dont use cheap and nasty just to fill them up, i use Autarky summer, which is 100% natural no colourings or any other crap, its expensive but i dont care, my dogs are worth it.

Never hear of Autarky summer Moley, ill look into it. But i agree the more expensive brands seem to be alot better. I use Eukanuba performance.

I FEED DRY BISCUIT MAINLY AND I ALSO HAVE A MATE IN A BUTCHERS SO I GET A BOX FULL OF RAW BONE ONCE A WEEK DOGS ARE ALLWAYS HEALTHY AND FIT

I fined Red Mills Tracker good as a mix as its desighned for this, mixing with raw meat.

My dogs fart n shit a lot on autarky a lot less when i feed IAMS.

Altough they are mainly on raw they do get dry occasionaly.

thanks for the info peeps,,,im certainly looking into changing my dogs diet for the better..ive seen frozen raw chicken and mince at a local pet store is this any good?

My local pet shop gets the frozen 1lb blocks of minced chicken, beef, tripe, and lamb. I feed all 4 , mixed with red mills tracker, and mine do great on it, plus a hide chew daily for their gnashers.

Should be able to get it at a greyhound track,there are a few in the north east.

I feed Gain greyhound with meat,it's similair to red mills.

Molly the reason i started using the Autarky was that my older bitch started to have kind of head shaking fits after food, turned out she was suffering from post hipatic shunt, may have spelt that wrong, but anyway was caused by me feeding her v- high amounts of protein because of the amount of work she does and her kidneys/liver could not cope, apparently some dogs get it, anyway spoke to Hancock about it, "whisper that bit" and he suggested that as it is totally organic etc, they have been on it about a year and a half now. Mix packs of raw minced tripe/chicken/rabbit etc, looking good on it and more importantly very rare fit type behaviour.
