Cree Torches

Recommended Posts

Well Rob, how did the outing with the cree torch go???

Was it up to the job???

definitely, I must admit it was a lot better than I was expecting. Really tight bright beam for short and medium range, it's probably not quite good enough for long range stuff, even though it does shine a good couple of hundred meters but probably not bright enough at that kind of range to be good enough....the 1600 may be though? might invest in one of them aswell with them being so cheap!

But yes, for short and medium range they are bloody brilliant, I definitely won't be carting a battery around with me again for the fields that I go on!

The only thing that did get on my tits was the fact that it has three settings, dull, flicker and bright (in that order). You change settings by pressing the button half way down, but the problem is when you switch it off the process of pressing the button means that it goes to the next setting, so if you have it on bright and switch it off, when you next switch it on it'll be back on dull and you have to flick through the flicker setting to get back onto bright......a way around it is to go onto the flicker setting before switching it off so that next time you switch it on it's already on bright.....a bit niggly but I have to say, that's its only fault as far as I can tell.

Definitely recommended! Very happy with it!

It shouldn,t do that Rob ,its a soft touch button to go through the settings or push it hard for on and off

Thanks for your help rob, great read. I have a 300 lumen headlight i use for night fishing, great job...

Im gonna buy a 800 and a 1600 lumens, Will one charger do the both ????

yep this one does both....800 takes 1 battery and 1600 takes 2  my 1600 hasn't come yet but a single battery on the 800 lasts about 4 hours on full beam....not bad going!
