its down to calling foxes for single handed or doubled up but how many is to many ,does such a dog exsist run ,catch, kill ,november, december, january ?

how many would you be happy with a dog to do say twice a week on its own

personally iv had my collie cross kill a couple of foxes on a sunday and if i thought he wasn able another one id put him back in the trailor but he just doesnt give in and id have him back out lampin a few night later.Sayin that i have seen fox dogs kill maybe 2 and they have taking too much stick to give them another one .All dogs are different i suppose

ive had dogs do 1 and not be fit for another ..........ive had one do 4 but be laid up for weeks..........and ive had others that will take 1.2.3.one night then on another night just chase them turn after turn and not want to catch them then 2 weeks back smashing 1s 2s and 3s ........is any of them good fox dogs....not in my eyes

you had one do 4 and you wouldn call him a fox dog ,sorry pal if i come across wrong but id call a dog a single handed fox dog if he killed 4 on his own ,but het what do i know

For get about other people run your own dogs as you see fit.To many pissing comps on here.

when im out lamping unless im on my own we would double up on fox not because we think the dogs cant do them on there own more because we would be lucky to get a handful of foxes close enough to slip

A fox would be despatched quicker by a single dog as it becomes a tug of war when doubled up ...imo if you gave a deer a hare and a fox 100yard law charlie would be the easiest caught ....but thats i

like i said iv seen bedlintons beddy cross run things that bite back and id give you all the money too my name (which isnt alot) if you could get his dog too spew.... as for calling him a thick c**t your much braver than me

Well im a brave boy :D No mention was made of his dog, that was never my point, what im saying is many dog will go out night after night and take stick BUT its our responsibility as owners when to say the dog needs a rest, as for spewing, mate as i said, anything will spew with fur on, EVERY dog has a breaking point, some break easier than others but all will break mate, no matter how good they are its possible to break them........

All historical in England now anyway...........

not entirely something id agree with seen some dogs that didnt have a breaking point an saw some that are no longer here because they didnt have 1 an were in the wrong hands

not this old chestnut again macky, have you got an inferiority complex about single handed dogs :whistling: ive never doubled up,ever, slipping two 70lb lurchers on one 20lb fox :icon_eek: and as for numbers, why double up,i go out with my mate and one dog each and when were lamping we just take turns,1st fox mine,2nd fox his,3rd mine and so on, and are the dogs fit to go out the following night...of course they are,a good lurcher takes very little time and punishment in dispatching old charlie,if your dogs taking plenty of stick when dealing wi charlie then maybe you should try rabbiting :whistling::thumbs:

your full of shit :bye:

whys that then smartarse :hmm: is it because youve never come across anyone with a good dog,if you think im full o shit because of what ive wrote, then im thinking you havent got a fecking clue  stick to rabbiting or carry on doubling up

what would be a good number for a good fox dog in a week ? pre ban

Really?

Who gives a shit?

It depends entirely on your abilities, your dedication, the game on the ground, the environmental conditions, the ground you are running, the dogs abilities, the dogs technique.

If you want a simple answer I will say 10
