Guest houndblair
So what wildlife do you have on your permmission/shoot/garden etc! In our wood where we shoot and trap various vermin we have some lovely wildlife about including Hares/Woodcock/Jays, Roe Deer,Buzzards,Voles,Woodpeckers and many more! We tend not to shoot jays or hares as there numbers are low, But as soon as my maste has his rifle a few roes will be shot as we are planting a new plantation of trees! Over the easter holidays and weekends i will get some top pics for this forum But i was just wondering what wildlife you have on your ground?
Guest MOLLY
Alot of the wildlife here is new to me, never seen it where i used to live/hunt, so im still totally in awe and learning all the time. Buzzard. Tawny owl Barn owl. Spar. Kes. Woodpeckers. Nuthatch. Tree creepers. Roe. Fox. Hare. Mink. Stoat. Red squirrel Water voles. Moles. Door mice. Toads and frogs by the million. Im sure there is loads more i havent seen, ive only just seen the tree creeper after living here a year. Sometimes the dogs are handy for flushing things you normally would'nt have seen if they had'nt, but i think alot of the times they stop you seeing much more. MOLL. danielt 1
I have a pair of tawny owls which like to visit the tree outside my window most nights, making one hell of a f*****g racket. Seen a sparrow hawk round my garden too Edited March 19, 2007 by danielt

T.F.Student 0
In the house the other day and heard a major chorus of alarm calls...went out just in time to see a sparrowhawk struggling to rise from the thicket behind the neighbours greenhouse...it then it flew off with a bizarre up, down, right, left flight pattern...with a collared dove :clapper:
