HAMMERDAN 25
The difference is.... ones for coursing, and ones normal. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Aye like has been said, any whippet that goes coursing is a "coursing whippet", and they do come in a fair range of sizes etc. But there are definately certain lines in the past that were bred more for coursing than anything else, with the Moonlake cup etc. I guess, a decent size, fairly light, good legs and a deep chest. Probably quite similar to most "working whips" although some are probably a little on the heavy side. But very easily identified in comparison to the show bred shit, and the little shivery pet things. Quote Link to post
Sirius 1,391
Its a bit like the rubbish you here spouted about a Kc Reg working whippet and a pedigree whippet. Basically one has been out in the field and worked but there are no differnces physically in most cases as they should be bred to a breed standard. Many lines were/are bred for coursing and these were very slightly differnt to many pedigree show whippets physically, infact a great many of the great coursing whippets were infact Show champions or had done well at the shows. But being a good coursing dog or worker is as much about what is in it's head than anything. Like Public Enemy said, Dont believe the Hype. People spout allot about these so called special types of unique 'working' or 'coursing' whippets to sell pups. Edited September 23, 2011 by Sirius Quote Link to post

asanley 1,009
It ,s easy to get bogged down with labels , they are all whippets , some work , some course some show . There are lines that specialise in all these disiplins , but by and large they are interchangeable , they are whippets whatever they are used for. 1 Quote Link to post
