johnny boy68 11,726
Sadly Simon I disagree although the Foo's are a great band they're not Nirvana or sadly will they ever be. The Foo's got there break in music because of the "Nirvana" connection imho.
artic 595
The Foos are ok as a studio band, I feel their drummer only gives 100% when playing live. Nirvana crucified both time after time. Studio band, wash your mouth out Foos at Milton Keynes this summer were fecking amazing, and the new album is pure quality Foos are weak live, they really are. You can always judge a band by their live performances, and for me they do not sound as powerful and most importantly not tight as a group as they are in a studio. Simoman 110
Johnny.....................i still prefer the foos........

joshmarto 13
dont think the new album is as good as echos, silence, patience and grace but a top band all the same dave is a legend
undisputed 1,664
It's strange that an album that was such a commercial success for the band and brought grunge into the mainstream was hated by Corbain. A troubled soul that wasn't helped by his mad burd. Far superior to the Foo's in my opinion. Without Nirvana there would have no Pearl jam (best band out there in my opinion) or Soundgarden Undi, i rarely disagree with you BUT i think you have been on the sherry Foos are amazing, so much better than Nirvana, Pearl Jam, feck me apart from Alive they were poo, Jeremy, everybody raved about that song, it reduced me to sleep..and soundgarden were ok...BUT they became Audioslave, far better lol Lol not sherry mate only Magners...I've seen the foo's a few times now and they've always been a disappointment....as for the jam listen to of he goes or inside job... brilliant live.....if you get the chance check Rush out live 3 old guys at the top of they're game. WILF 48,125
Brilliant band.............the unplugged session was just brilliant They also were the catalyst for Nine Inch Nails aswell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2pKPXNjg8Q And dont forget, he was totally off his face when they did that session. I have seen the Foo Fighters a few time live, if you can get up close then they are very good.......at Hyde Park, still good but not as good. Queens of the Stone age were shite in that venue too..........now, Neil Young.......theres a bloke that can rock a big venue

Ideation 8,216
Still one of my favourite bands by far, the tracks never get old, and as good as the foos are, they just don't have the raw power that nirvana did. Although i will admit the first couple of foos albums were VERY good, i'm not such a fan of their later stuff. But you just cannot beat Nirvana. And Simo - you should read the biography - very good. Ideation 8,216
And Bleach is still one of the best punk albums ever . . . .

andyfr1968 772
I never really got what all the fuss was about with Nirvana. They did record some truly brilliant songs but they recorded a lot of crap aswell. The Foo's are a class band but like's been said above, they're earlier albums were well above their later stuff. Ideation 8,216
"We sound like the Bay City Rollers after an assault by Black Sabbath. And, we vomit onstage better than anyone." - Kurt Cobain in Guitar World.
