Guest born to run1083 Posted September 23, 2011 Report Share Posted September 23, 2011 now the moons down me and jonny boy off here decided to go for a walk with the two pups Luna and missy for an hour or two the weather conditions were poor was still and no rain so we had a challenge tonight to do well, the rabbits around us are on horrid terrain on the mountain tops and can make the best dogs look soft a real challenge for them but it's all experience and sharpens them up a treat. first rabbit ran by Luna (jonny boys pup) was a good un she knew she had secs to get the job done or it would be lost, and she caught him well by cutting his escape off and scoping him up, that's the first one in the bag, then we stroll on further to give missy her run. again caught fast so that another in the bag we then walked down the lane and jonny boy said just check this spot here it was some small scrub land dogs were lose from walking up the lane then there I turn the lamp on and as the dogs were lose missy ran it to the fence when the rabbit did a matrix on us and ran up the fence, yes you heard me right ran up the fence lol luckly missy pressured him off and ran him back where Luna being off slip as well she caught it whilst taking a roll with rabbit in mouth, was a great strike. one off them camera moments, get the dogs back on slip so we could get in the fields and hunt properly again. ran a few caught everyone ran, way back missy ran a rabbit I thought she was Gonna have it in the field but he got through fence and hedge, but for some strange reason she was running up the fence line with the lamp off which is odd for her as she normally comes straight back, turned the lamp on and the dimmest rabbit I've seen came back out to a horrid ending to missy jaws lol and intotal we got 8 rabbits from 10 runs, considering it was not the best weather and this land is very, very testing. the pups showed us what they were capable of and Luna progression over the last two weeks has been ammense, a born natural over all really enjoyed the night Quote Link to post

That bitch of yours is really impressing me......she's got a great running style. Some mad bunnies about last night and some good catches which will be stored in the memory banks. Quote Link to post

Dogs did real well and I fo one am really looking forward to the rest of the season with these 2. aye your right jonny boy but one bonus to the land we have is when we go up country the dogs don't need to try half as hard as this gets em in shape as you know. my view it's cracking for training the pups on, gets em fit, and makes them sharp can't ask for any more Quote Link to post

Two very tidy pups there, and i'm sure the future is bright for both of them, from what i have seen and heard.
