Guest Dale
you obviously dont want your rabbits retrieved live to hand then .............. my little bitch wont bring back live , never has done when she catches she nails it there on the spot , but my other lurcher will sometimes , he just makes up his own mind , live to hand doesnt bother me as my catch is for food for ferrets/dogs so dead/alive is all the same to me , both lurchers retreive though , Dale Edited March 18, 2007 by Dale Quote Link to post

Irish Lurcher 1,013
Why do some people insist on silly comments, if you don’t like or approve of something that is off no interest to you, then you are better served saying nothing at all Nice one Dale, love to see other dogs enjoying themselfs. Nice looking dogs. Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
I do my best to lay off on the criticisms, but occasionally I feel the need! I think that Reload means that he would be well annoyed if his dogs 'played' with a catch, as all that sort of thing does is teach them to mess about rather than bringing an undamaged rabbit back to hand. I suppose if you don't work your dogs then its all well and good, though personally I can't see that this sort of behaviour shows up lurcher owners in a very good light from the anti/general public point of view: things being ripped to bits etc. I know the rabbit's dead already, but the dogs would do the same to an alive one wouldn't they, once they've been encouraged to do it to a dead one. Edited to add that as lurcher owners I would have thought that respect for the quarry and responsible behaviour regarding our dogs is of interest to everyone in the hunting fraternity: maybe the guy hasn't thought it through carefully enough before putting up this vid. I know I've put up things in the past that I shouldn't have: hopefully we learn from our mistakes. Edited March 19, 2007 by skycat Quote Link to post
Guest Dale
so people have never let there dog rag on a fox pre ban ect , ive just changed the fox to a rabbit after they have caught it , trust me when my dogs are working they do bring it back no problems , untouched , straight kill , . i let them have a quick rag for fun with them , it was a mixy and better of dead anyway , if people dont like what they seen then dont post , im all for peoples opinions ect but im not the first lurcher owner to let there dogs have a bit of fun am i :S cheers Dale Edited March 19, 2007 by Dale Quote Link to post

Nice looking dogs. Personally i dont see that as a silly comment And as a forum is about discussion, well thats my point of view. I dont see the point at all, of a supposed working lurcher ragging a rabbit does it any favors. But if thats your bag and you proud enough to post a video of it then fair enough. Stuff that bites back fair enough, but a rabbit?? Bit like the younglad that dropped a rabbit for 3 lurchers to muller on video? What was the point in that?? Stuff that bites bag fair enough, but a rabbit?? all i can say is each to there own , it was a bit of fun for my dogs , not as if both of the dogs had hold of it when it was alive , my little white bitch got it , killed it , and on way home let them have have a go with it , you wouldnt find anything wrong with the way my dogs work - trust me , there both spot on , dont f**k about in the field ect , and when slipped and caught there kill are both straight back with it , dead/alive. ( all comments are welcome weather good or bad as like the above said this is a forum and if i wasnt preperd for some stick i wouldnt have posted the video , ) ( also if a MOD feels the need to take the video off then feel free) Dale Edited March 19, 2007 by Dale Quote Link to post
