Artificial Rabbit Warren

Recommended Posts

Oh and just for the record, if you use drainage pipe, how the feck is the ferret meant to know if it's above ground in a pipe or underground in a pipe???

personally i was thinking of using half pipes so their actually on the soil.

 thats what mine get. and you can change the layout of the pipes so they dont get used to running around the same shape as im sure as shite every warren is different

i built one in my court using thick sturdy cavity hoses wire lined so they didnt collapse.concreted over them, and put wee cowels as entrance holes.only draw back was they kept running down with dead rabbits and other food, became a health issue, and a b*****d to get stuff out.closed them up a the finish.

We used to have one - we used rabbits to make it. Job done!

I'm not joking mate, released a dozen rabbits into a pen with a few holes dug and they did the rest in quick time.

oh right sounds like a good idea actually good way of doing it

I have two older ferrets that I doubt will survive this winter and I'll miss them when they go. I completely trust these two
The hob has outlived his litter brother by 2 years and the Jill a litter sister by 3 years and I find it's incredible that at 7 years old, long long past the typical lifespan of polecats in the wild, and despite their obvious tumours and associated thyroid swelling both those old ferrets are still keen to get out and do their thing very well 😍.

My little doe has finally had her kits around a week ago their mum is a great little hunter but also a great pet  she is proud of them and i have been close to them but still keeping a distance from them at this stage  hopefully if i can get 3 to 4 bucks for new stock I will be happy with that . My question is I have in the past put my young ones to work with their mum at around 6 months old is that a bit to early. Second of all I will keep one of her daughters for breading as milly is getting old  . With the older ones I will pass them on as pets as that are friendly when handheld but do hunt when they out to work . c
