beddy whippet prone to knocks

dont know if its just my dog but nearly every time he goes out he picks up a knock of some sort,was wondering if its common with this type of dog as ive never owned beddy whippets before????????????

My beddy whippet grey is the same martyn, skin like bog roll, always coming home with cuts and knocks, touch wood, he's never had a serious knock, had a 4" cut to his right shoulder just before start of season, but was back in action a week later, that's the worst any of my dogs has had.. What in particular is your dog knocking mate? HD.

we always run on the same ground but you cant inspect ever inch of field that would take a week alone lol

Is it real, physical marks or is it the dog just limping/holding a leg funny? The reason I ask is because mine is a right fecking fanny & used to do it all the time at the slightest of knocks about the house. It all seemed to be in his head. I used to be worried about him until I found that he soon forget about limping and whining whenever I reached for his favourite tennis ball..

ive a little half cross thats allways nocked up feet,cuts the lot! shes a reckless runner the only thing shes not done is broke bones witch i hope never happens

Faster the dog the more they get knocked , I got a deerhound x grayhound x collie grayhound a real speed machine and she could hurt her self in a cotton wool factory, I think its just the speed and the drive to get her target .

(Touch wood) iv been out 4 times a week for 2-3 weeks now fair enough he's a pup and only got 4 rabbits on lamp but he's still running on different ground he's fell twice and slipped into a tractor from which he got a tiny spot of blood on his leg but that's it so far ... Hope I haven't jynxed myself haha

not always the case u can have speed machine,,,but if it runs smart,,,no problems,,ive see more harder lurchers injure just as much on same ground as speed merchants

 

stupid speed merchents hurt themself more,,seen it many a time,,,40mph to catch 25mph rabbit,,put back on lead,,,,lol,,,till it learns

these are game little feckers,my dogs nearly 3 now and there has been many a time i thought he would come a searious injury,heart in the mouth job but he dont seem to give a feck he will just plough on straight thru to get his intended

theres a field round my way that has plenty of rabbits in but has machinery in,thats a no go for me thank you
