IanB 0
Anyone use a comparator and any you would recommend to buy.. I'm just using a standard vernier caliper at the minute, thinking the comparitor witll help with that extra accuracy? Quote Link to post
HUnter_zero 58
I use one from Sinclair, it's in the shape of a nut with different calibres on each side. ( One of these : http://www.sinclairi...let_Comparators) Works great with a vernier caliper. John Edited September 21, 2011 by HUnter_zero Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
As above i had the nut type, but thought it was a bit fiddley, i now have the stoney point one which bolts onto the vernier caliper itself, It does show you just whats happening your rounds, Quote Link to post
IanB 0
So its a lot more accurate than just using the vernier... I looked on the net, but only seen the hornaday comparators available..Cheers lads Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
yes it will let you see the bullets to the ogive. it will make your rounds more consistent if doing this. as you know measuring to the tip of the bullets doesn't give you a proper reading of your rounds as bullet tips in some brands can be a lot different. i checked some 20 vmax the other day for my 17 cf. and there was 3 to 5 tho difference in them. What action do you normally take jamie when theres a large variation in the heads or depth.. Quote Link to post

zx10mike 137
with the hex nut it was just it was possible for it to not be totally straight and if i made sure with a small bit of pressure it marked the bullet. Quote Link to post
