LAZYBSTARD 225
yes i remeber it, he had been done over on several occasions prior to the incident where he shot the young traveller with an unlicensed 12g. for the firearms offence he should have been taken to court, but never fo the murder of an intruder, never in a million years, the public took this case to heart and so they should have, anybody who enters another persons property without permision with the intent of commiting a criminal act should have no protection from the law. i think tony martin reloaded the gun an ran after the other burglar an stuck one in his back it was a bit more than self defence
Attack Fell Terrier 864
I don't care what the law is, if anyone breaks into my house I'll kill them as well. The bloke done nothing wrong IMO, he defended his family from someone who broke in carrying a knife!

Yeh shoot first ask questions later is never ideal, I nearly cracked my old man with a broom handle when I was 15 or so, when he came back late one night early from being away...Note to self.. always switch on light first. I think in this instance though there was no shadow of doubt as the guy had been effectively held hostage by these two way before he started to take them on Edited September 20, 2011 by lapin2008

scothunter 12,609
guy was quite right.they went into to his home,in the prospect of either robbing him or doing him or his nearest and dearest harm.he has every right to protect his home.yes accidents can happen ie mistaken identity like that lads father.not in my case though.i dont let anyone walk into my home without knocking.even my closest mates wait till the door is answered.i think its just down right rude walking into someones house. bell 3,606
Slippery slope fellas.........if someone breaks into my house i can kill them...........if someone breaks into my garage i can kill them, coz they might come into the house next...........if someone crashes their car into mine i can kill them coz they might be tooled up and do me in the ensuing argument. The bottom line is its generally frowned upon to kill people and im sure most of you ninja assasins wouldnt go straight for the eliminator if it happened to you

Have you got a wife and family? Because if you have, surely you know deep down the lengths you could go too to ensure their safety & well being when the shit hits the fan?

I think fear would play a big part too, being scared isn't always about being sat whimpering in the corner. Like any animal, a scared human can be just as dangerous, if not even more dangerous than an angry one because of the unpredictability of his actions IMO.
