Its a new emerging cheaper product that is being introduced, they have their uses. However if it was a choice betwwen some of the low resolution thermal or high resolution NV, I would spend my hard earned dosh on the higher end NV for hunting. The resoultion/recognition range on low end thermal is not very good at all, usefull for detecting heat sources full stop or temperature variation/gradients (good for finding rising damp and hard to locate leaks) but for accurate recognition of your quarry a waste of money when compared to similar cost NV.
