Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Bringing them on from pups is THE best way hands down, that way you know they're socialised well with every day things, and when the time comes you know you've done the best you can for the dog and then it's all upto the dog. IMO a well socialsed dog that has total confidence in it's owner will have a better chance of becoming a good working dog than one that's passed about or even worse left in a yard till it's old enough to work and be expected to perform miracles. The phrase 'you only get out, what you put in' sums it up... 2 Quote Link to post
hogie 103
bring them on yourself reckon 90percent dogs you buy that have been started have done something wrong or they wouldnt be for sale 1 Quote Link to post
mudd dog 128
Most off my dogs I have all brought on from pups. At the minute in my yard I've reared every dog in it from pup and have two younguns ready for next year. It's the only way. My mates have bought good dogs in but 90% of the time anything bought in is dort. Passed around and sold on so the peddlers don't loose out on £££. Breed your own you know what you have, run your pups on your way and that's the best way..... 1 Quote Link to post
