just not enough to run round my way

Exactly, on my permission im happy with a couple of bunnies, to get numbers means a 4 hour round trip, ££££ on diesel and effort, trouble is most are quick to piss and moan and not put the effort in.........Although they can spend hours whinging about it on here............

Yes Sim its all about being out I travel a bit aswell and your right about taking the dogs away from their comfort zone...............knowing your dog as the ability to adapt to different ground and m

Its about getting out Johnny, its definately not about numbers for me BUT i think a few nights during the season at numbers does test the dog and give you an insight into its character and ability :thumbs:

most folk have to travel if they want good land with lots of game theres not many of us lucky enough to have it on the doorstep

 

Suppose im one of the lucky ones then, practically on my doorstep, its rural where i live, but i like to get about, change of scenery and all that

 

 

At my last house within two minutes i could be out the house and onto deer/fox/rabbit/hare/squirrel but is till travelled regularly as i think its does the hunter and dog good, i think its easy to get stuck in your own bubble, i know i did for many a year, when you travel on different ground, see other folks dogs and get out your comfort zone you see what sort of dog you really have :thumbs:

i would rather get a couple nowa days.the days of 60-8- a night has long gone for me by the time you get back gut,skin and sell surplus its not worth the hassel.just enough to fill the freezer for a bit of game pie does me.but i still have to travel like everyone else its nice to get the peace and quiet .
