leegreen 2,221
I have two Mastiff types around 100lb, two running dogs and a Spaniel X pup. I use about a sack of dry food a month which is £9, approx 60lb tripe/month which costs £24, 60lb hearts/month which costs £30 and the rest is free (rabbit, venison, pigeon, ex egg layers and butchers waste). So £63 per month and I always put a few quid in the charity pot at the butchers. I have started running me dogs again and before I did I still had 12 rabbits left from the previous season . Strong Stuff 2,171
Had a right result today, went to see the butcher in my village, been meaning to go for ages, got a box of "waste" from 1 day, in it was 4 chicken carcasses, load of beef trimmings and about 10 chicken wings, and he gave me a huge beef bone for the little bast.ard. He said no one else ever asks for it, so if I want to go in a few times a week that would be great! Small problem though lol, put his bowl down with 2 chicken carcasses and sone wings and beef ............... he doesn't look happy, not touched it. He's been on raw from being weaned, but it's normally been lamb and beef, not really tried him on chicken, guess he'll eat it when he's hungry eh? Feel a right twa.t though
