Simoman 110
If i packed up hunting i would still keep my dogs until old age, unless a very very close friend wanted to run them. I would still keep a pet dog if i was a non hunter........My retired dogs stay here until there health deteriorates or there quality of life suffers............ Quote Link to post
bird 9,946
lurcher is a worker 1st, pet 2nd, but even if i never worked a lurcher again, i would keep 1 as pet. They make great pets, loyal, healthy, clever, nice temps, and cheep to buy, you get a good lurcher what ever the x for £150 quid, thats feck all comp to a ped dog. All this crap about its got to feed me, it's 20011 not 1920, you can get a chicken r/m dinner for feckin £4 quid = 2 pints of lager lol . Ilike a working dog for the sport+hobby, as long as i get on with the dog , and it has given me some sport they will stay. A bloke said to me tonight, do they make good pets, i said great pets, and more so if they do have a job to do. He said he saw some in the pound, thought they had nice temps and would make nice pet, hope he as 1 and give it a life Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
i'll always have a dog whether hunting or not.me too rob ..but i would get a big cuddly dog if i didnt work em ..a big fluffy one i could sleep with ..and it would have to lick the fluff from between my toes after a hard days graft....but to be more honest i like the companioship of a dog ..always happy to see you when you get home never gripes..cant beat the company of a dog when yer had a bad day ...out for a mooch ..you dont have to be killing stuff everytime you go out somtimes its just grand to be out in the fresh air watching nature..some of these so called hardcore hunters saying they wouldnt have a dog if they didnt hunt then its there loss..half the c**ts on here have dogs and dont do fook all with them,, 1 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Not sure you can keep on hunting dogs and pack up hunting. Aye, you might pack up lamping, but you still have to walk them, and they will just do what they do, if there is game in the area. Quote Link to post
