THE GRIFF 8
I have a pest control job to do in the next week or so in 2 acre garden. This job was passed on to me by a pest controller that has a contract with this client to control rats and other pests but doesn't really have the time to do the rabbits. He did however try to knock a hole in the numbers 2 weeks ago on 2 burrows using some sort of gas tablets and filled in the holes. I don't know exactly what chemicals/gasses were used as I am not familiar with these methods but apparently the rabbits are working these sets again. My question is is there different types of gas tablets and will it be safe to ferret them bearing in mind it was over 2 weeks ago and the rabbits seem to be back in them? Quote Link to post

Not a problem doing these burrows after 2 weeks the manufactureres reccommendation is the gas is only lethal for 48hrs after application Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
THE GRIFF 8
I thought that was the case and with the Gale force winds we have had will of helped as well. I wasn't sure if there may of been any tablets left in the hole or are these tablets used to form a chemical reaction to make gas, a bit like a smoke bomb? Sorry if I sound a bit thick, but wanted to make sure before ferreting it. Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Waste of time to the bluming things nothing gets rabbits out of burrows better than the traditional method of a stinker up the rabbits arse : ) Quote Link to post
Plong 21
Chaces are you will be able to tell which burrows have been gassed as it's unlikly all the holes will have been cleared. Farm I ferret often gas sets and it's usually well over a month before they start using them again. Quote Link to post
