Shooting vermin

Hi all

 

Im getting a air rifel this weekend to blast vermin " There Running all over my chicken run" !

I was wondering what are you a loud to shoot with a air rife ?

Depends on what the VERMIN is thats running all over your chicken run. :whistle:

You might want to look here at the Wildlife and Countryside Act

 

but the BASC air rifle code of practice gives the following advice

 

 

We recommend that you refrain from using them on live quarry other than the following: crows, rooks, jackdaws, magpies, jays, woodpigeon, collared doves, feral pigeons, brown rats, grey squirrels and rabbits.

I guess the 'Vermin' your onabout must be rats or foxes, Rats an air rifle is fine but foxes is a no no either buy a cage trap or snares! Or shoot it!

keep to the pests on the list.....and make sure you are capable of hitting the vital area....ie head at the distance your shooting at....

also before you try to reduce the number of vermin make sure your going to hit them and kill them cleanly.. its not about point shoot and it drops dead... good luck
