lamp for .17hmr

Recommended Posts

Lightforce 140 would be good as well, a bit smaller, a little lighter and still with 300m plus focusable beam which is more than enough for 17hmr.

There is always the new range of Tracers that come as a boxed kit with charger lith'ion battery and rifle mounted lamp. 3 cree LED give very good distance and all in a compact unit? Had a look at them today and they are a nice package for the money with different range options available.

I use LED lenser P6 gunlight on my air rifle and to be honest it would just about be OK for a 22 rimmy.

I think you will get a lot of the lads and lasses on here just give a thumbs up to the Lightforce stuff, also there are the new Deben lights, which are basically Lighforce but a bit cheaper on price.

Great replies above, I to rate the lightforce and the 170 is about the brightest scope mouted lamp but as already said get a dimmer. What you need to ask yourself is how far do you need to see and shoot? The trouble with big housed lamps is they twist when you carry your gun slung over your shoulder and being so big gets knocked easily. If it's a battery pack lamp your after for HMR consider something like the deben max pro if you have a 25mm scope the lamp just snaps on and off the scope easily so also twists back in place easily if knocked but they don't do the snap mount for 30mm scopes, if you've got a 30mm scope and want something smaller than the 170 go for the lightforce 140 as already said. Lots are happy with the LED torches so don't rule them out it is less hassle without wires.

Whatever, get a Dimmer, and for HMR use I would suggest the Deben Max Pro, it will provide a complete package at a cheaper price than the Lightforce and provide shooting light out to around 400 yards, far more than you will ever need on the HMR...of yes, and its more reliable than the Lightforce :yes::thumbs: .

The lightforce 170 has a better light for sure, but that is because it has a bigger reflector and a more powerful lamp, but do you need it, remember that means it also eats batteries quicker!

ATB!

I bought the PRO kit upfront (that includes the dimmer), if all else fails Deben sell the Dimmer as a spare!

i would go for the 170. if you have a bigger calibre in the future. you will prob upgrade again. so save your money and buy once.

my mate has a scope mounted 170 for sale for 65 pound. with the scope mount etc, brand new bulb and rewired as the standard wiring on them leaves alot to be seen
