bryson 562
Just read a quite sad thread about a couple of lads dogs both getting injured one worse than the other and its going to cost him a good few quid does any one with running dogs have insurance on their dogs or do you just wait till the inevitable happens cheers Bry Quote Link to post
jarv5116 57
Thats why vets are so fooking expensive now! Ever since this pet insurance pish started they just charge what they want, If you havnt got insurance they pull ur pants down and bumb you. Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,164
My dog had stitches yesterday, £112. So I came home and had a look on the net for pet insurance. Tesco came up £9 a month with £60 excess. I suppose this way the most you will pay is £60 for each injury. About 3/4 years ago my old dog had a £380 bill. I wish he had been insured! jarv5116 57
yeah thats what im saying £110 for couple stiches! bit of a piss take. £110 for bit needle and thread and 15 mins of vets time. Quote Link to post
jarv5116 57
yeah £9 a month sounds ok but x that by 12 is £118 a year, plus your £60 excess then ur into £178 for a year if your dog gets an injury. is it worth it? Edited September 16, 2011 by jarv5116 Quote Link to post
hickso 0
I am thinking about it, think you can get it for around a £5 a month, in my quote i just put beddy cross in and left out the whip/greyhound bit seems to keep the price down, excess £60. staffs riffraff 1,068
Trust me get it just got my bull x done £7 a month and my mates greyhound that's with me £11 a month and it's worth it as I spent £900 on one of the dogs with a broken leg and when the bulls was bit younger about £350/400 on cuts and rips in 6/7 months so I didn't take mine out this season till they were insured Quote Link to post

Twitch 13
Just got a quote from Tesco Pet insurance - 8.52 a month for standard cover or 13.58 for 'extra' cover - seems like small change compared to a couple of hundred quid for a simple procedure, i think i may get myself some cover Quote Link to post

j1985 1,984
Just got my pup insured earlier with direct line for a tenner a month, I find it's best to go with a big company like direct line as the vets will go ahead with whatever's up knowing they'll get payed as the bigger company's cover for everything and pay up quicker.
