johnny boy68 11,726
RIP....Phillip Hill, Charles Breslin, David Powell and Garry Jenkins. There's a cry in the valleys, tears in the West Mourning the heroes that wear the pit vest Underground grafters always put in a shift Below the hillside in the deep dark drift Their not coming home to their children their wives The mine once again takes cherished lives The coalfields of Britain all unite in your mourn We're all the same breed We're pit village born

johnny boy68 11,726
A Welshman stood at the golden gate, his head was bent and low. He meekly asked the man of fate, The way that he should go. 'What have you done' St. Peter said 'To gain admission here?' 'I merely mined for coal' he said, 'for many and many a year.' St. Peter opened wide the gate, And softly tolled the bell. 'Come and choose your harp' he said 'You've had your share of hell.'

francolin 449
The two most dangerous jobs in my opinion, deep sea fishermen and miners, absolutely f****n gutted for the famillies of the men, when you are brought up in a mining village and mining community as I was it cuts real deep. All the coal mining areas of the uk, Scotland, yorkshire, North east, South Wales heavy industrial areas, black country, thats all they knew, no choice, no other work about, generations side by side. All the people from these heavy industry and mining areas will know how it feels, how it hits a community, and how that community will pull together like you wouldn't beleive to comfort and support these families in their time of need. RIP very well put,in time of need these people come together,i know they will now,the raggy lads of the mines are the salt of the earth in my eyes ,a bond hard to break,R.I.P.lads ,
Bootsha 1,306
I was lost for words when Sam Warburton (the Wales Captain) dedicated the Welsh win over Samoa to the families of the Mining disaster omn Saturday, it was a very generous and decent thing to do, I hope all the families of the lost gained strength from the fact that they are being remebered and honoured on the other side of the world by our own. Top marks for the win lads, but for what you said in your post match interview Captain, truly priceless. Thank you. :notworthy:
