mink rafts.

we all know the gct mink raft set up,but any lads on here modified it for use with body grips etc ?.. i know some have!.. any info or pics to share lads .... be nice to see others set ups

I got some plans online i will try and find them for you,basically a wooden tunnel with the trap end partially submerged and with mesh on the other end so the bait can be seen.i will look tomorrow for you.

i have seem that trap tunnel on an american website or magazine, do they work for you?

what if they were set under bridges and in culverts ? some where,where most people wouldnt look or have accsess to.

BRIDGES AND CULVERTS MATE .....

 

ARE THE EASIEST PLACES TO GANG SET AS THEY ARE NATURAL FUNNELS AND PROBABLY MY MOST PRODUCTIVE , I CANNOT SEE THE ADVANTAGE OF A RAFT ? APART FROM PUTTING DOWN LESS TRAPS OR SNARES ......THE FALLING POINT WOULD BE FOR ME THAT IN MOST SUCH AREAS THE WATER SPEED CAN INCREASE MAKING IT HARDER FOR THE MINK TO REACH .... IVE WATCHED MINK GET TAKEN IN MY TRAPS AFTER SWIMMING IN SUCH PLACES AND THEY TEND TO BOB ALONG GUIDING THEMSELVES ALONG THE SIDES OF THE BRIDGE RATHER THAN SWIM ........LIKE ALL GOOD PREDATORS RETAINING AS MUCH ENERGY AS POSSIBLE FOR THE HUNT

there is raft set up i use,,it dont involve wood, form,weed or anything that may even lok like a raft.. it rises and falls cost £1.50 to make and it works.had to use them here in wales wherevwater levels can rise 3 foot over nite,yet still need them grippers to work.early days yet but ive had three now in two weeks out of 8 traps.it must be set againt a over hang bank,culvert /bridge side tho. ;)

seen the set up on a face book thing,trapping.looks ok
