arcticgun 4,548 Posted September 14, 2011 Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) I run saluki types mate, so clouting em rarely if ever gets the desired results, it would just have me reaching for me astma inhaler after chasing the daft buggers about, but my lot are stock broken, just done it by verbal command and odd jerk on leader, thus far it has worked for me, if worse ever came to worse and likely one day it could, i would likely use a pac type collar so the dog dont associate the pain with me dont get me wrong i know some types respond well to firm checking and dont harbour grudge, and its each to their own, but dog handling training has come a long way from the hit em hard days, granted though there can be a time and place for firmer methods Edited September 14, 2011 by arcticgun Quote Link to post
