earth84 2
Imo,if you can call off your dog,and im not saying you cant, when its up the arse of a rabbit and about to pick it up,well then it has not got much prey drive in fairness. fatman you are correct or i feel, I'm not slagging or throwing shite around but, I feel any worker of any kind that can be called away from heated work, really doesn't want to be there working in the first place, or at least thats me opinion on the subject.. Dont bother with books stop end,and whats your point, have you never been out on a day when its f*****g lashing down with a bitter east wind blown just for good measure, cause believe me i have seen plenty of days like it,and maybe a terrier to ground in a bad place at the same time. A very under estimated terrier is a tyke of this type....ive got a lab i can call of feather but she wont come of hares but can still nearly put a turn in some ....which is more than can be said for most bull crosses I have seen Quote Link to post

No offence buddy, but stoping a gun dog on a runner and stoping a lurcher or calling a terrier of a kill are very far apart.I like to see a good springer or cocker working as i keep both springers and a lab myself, and it is not that difficult to stop them on a running bird same as when they flush a rabbit out of cover, but try stoping a lurcher when a rabbit or fox is pushed out,no comparison.
