I got a black pup sumtime ago off a gamekeeper which was in the kennel from day 1, talk about jekyl and hyde he was a right bar steward, he'd come to the kennel door all giddy and jumping up, let you fuss him but 10 seconds was your limit after that he'd stiffen up and start strutting his stuff. His 1st offence was when he went in the house, had a fuss off my son untill he'd had enough, jumped on the sofa and put 2 puncture wounds on his face, 2nd offence came when again he got into the house but this time rattled the daughters face and she needed 2 stitches in her lip, his 3rd offence (this isn't as bad but funny) was when he was let in the house to wake yours truely up after a night shift, jumped on the bed licking my face until the 10 seconds were up then he was facing me off, bearing in mind my hands were under the quilt it was quite scary, i threw the quilt and dog against the wall and when he emerged gave him a right 'talking to', and yes he recieved the same for his earlier offences but i ended up keeping him for what he did in the fields, although looking back he should have been pts.

1st offence was enuff for me, you sir are a prick of the highest order.......... :icon_eek:

dont deserve dogs, never mind kids,.......................

Yeh it was enough for me but it was my son who actually got bit that told me not to put him down, All 3 times he was let in the house were none of my doing.

And thanks for my promotion......

on the rare occasion you can get bitten, it's inevitable. I've been bitten by dogs on a few different occasions when breaking them off and they just take a quick snap and catch you. but there's a clear difference by being bitten by accident and a dog that just lunges for people's faces all the time. I agree once is once too much in that scenario. Bump !!!

Jesus man, that's pretty irresponsible. Dogs kicking off with other dogs in one thing, but biting people and even worse KIDS! should mean a definite slaying. I don't understand how anyone could keep a dog after it had bit your kids face.

Bought a patterdale a few month ago, previous let him go due to him biting,he was a family pet.But had apparently been bred out of nick stevens stuff.1st time i had him out on a call out,let the older dog mark ,let my dog have a lookand he wanted to go so i let him in,0.6,dog did really well so was suited with him.took him home to shower and bathe him,he got on couch and when i went to get him off he bit me.2nd dig 1 meter deep ,broke through to dog, tried pulling him out,and it was like trying to pull a crocodile out!! 3rd dig broke through to a pals dog,let my dog have a look dog did well pulled him out no bother,no growling or biting, but since then he's bit my neighbour and my son!

nothing else to run on this season, would you persevere or get rid??

thanks lads all opinions gratefully received .

I could be reading your post incorrectly but did you dig to the terrier twice and then give him a look at the end of a dig after you dug to your friends terrier ?

If so, then IMO you shouldn't have any terrier, man eater or not.

Yeh i understand what some of you are saying, i was young myself at the time just getting into the foxing game and he was my 1st and only terrier at the time.

I knew i'd get slated for posting it, its a true story for happydigger to relate to before its too late??

Yes the dog should have been pts and should have and would do now if i came across that scenario again but hey i can't right a wrong now can i?
