Attack Fell Terrier 864
... but maybe isolate him from family and friends MAYBE! What do you mean maybe? That should be a definite mate! If you can't keep him away from the kids then get rid of him to someone who can see to it that he can't bite anyone or failing that have him put down. At least make sure you keep him away from your nippers mate! I understand your position but f*ck me, get him away from kids if he's a c*nt. What ever the case best of luck with it, I hope you come up with a solution, sooner rather than later . It's all about pecking order AFT, if he bites the kids hard enough they'll fcuk off out the way and never do it again . If he was mine i'de take it slow, introduce him to the family bit by bit, no sharp moves or shouting. If this didn't work then simply keep him away, if he's from the Duke side i wouldn't hold your breath about him changing his ways . Personally I wouldn't risk it myself mate. Quote Link to post
Guest busterdog
Theres tons of stevens dogs that bite, if i had to guess he'd be from the Duke side as they are b*****ds with this problem. A friend has one out of Crom and you can't fault him at his work but fcuk me once you've broken through he works you as hard as the game lol, i've even seen the same lad putting fox nets on to catch his own dog. He often says to people (much like the owner of Crom) if you can take him out of the run you can have him, he's ten years plus and he's still there. did many of them have pointy ears by any chance? sounds a lot like a bitch a friend had that we never knew where she came from. A few did TT, myself i wouldn't keep it or if i did i'de keep it well away from the kids. When i was younger i honestly wouldn't of given a shit but as you get a bit older you can see theres more to life than having a dog to dig to "family means more than dogs", all i have to do now is travel back in time and tell the idiot version of me the same thing. Bryan 1,362
If it's Chocolate keep him for breeding, the pups will easily cover the costs of any surgery and you'll have a few pound for yourself. Best to give him to someone who could handle him better and away from kids. Quote Link to post
mudd dog 128
Good few points there lads. Look mate if the dogs too hot to handle for a start get him out of the way no ifs or buts, no nice warm baths or lying on the couch. He is a lucky dog to still be alive so get something sorted ASAP. Your bound to know someone that would take him that has the facilities that would suit better than yourself. Maybe they can give you a terrier in return or breed of him and give you a few pups out of him if he's as good as you say !!! You hardly hunt on your own. Quote Link to post

gonetoearth 5,144
A terrier that fights with other terriers whilst out working can be a pain but managble but if it bites kids its a no brainer either move it on to some one who has kennel space and can keep it separate or its click , you would never live with your self it it scared a kid Quote Link to post
raynardman 519
I got a black pup sumtime ago off a gamekeeper which was in the kennel from day 1, talk about jekyl and hyde he was a right bar steward, he'd come to the kennel door all giddy and jumping up, let you fuss him but 10 seconds was your limit after that he'd stiffen up and start strutting his stuff. His 1st offence was when he went in the house, had a fuss off my son untill he'd had enough, jumped on the sofa and put 2 puncture wounds on his face, 2nd offence came when again he got into the house but this time rattled the daughters face and she needed 2 stitches in her lip, his 3rd offence (this isn't as bad but funny) was when he was let in the house to wake yours truely up after a night shift, jumped on the bed licking my face until the 10 seconds were up then he was facing me off, bearing in mind my hands were under the quilt it was quite scary, i threw the quilt and dog against the wall and when he emerged gave him a right 'talking to', and yes he recieved the same for his earlier offences but i ended up keeping him for what he did in the fields, although looking back he should have been pts.
