Recommended Posts

I need roughly 2.3 cubic metres of concrete but want to knock it up by hand, does any one know how much of each (Cement, Sand and Ballast) I should order ?

Thanks

do your self a favour get a barrowed service in unless you batch your mix corretly and do your ground work 9/10 times you will have probs tell them it for a garage base that mix will sufice allow it to cure prop and it will be fine

1 bag of cement to 2 bags of sand and 3 bags of stones then add water till its right

probably be cheaper getting it ready mixed and it certainly would be easier

or .4 cement .8 of sand .11 of stones (dont know if you can buy cement sand and stones in cubic metres)

worked it out from wickes, delivered it should be around £300 quid!! Its not that I didnt know the mix or how to do it just knowing how much of what to buy. Thanks again.

I was quoted £245 plus vat plus another £300 if I needed the pump as you only get 30 mins to unload from a cement mixer.

if u buy redy mix they will want 90 to 95 pound per cubic metre,2 men can barrow that easy in 30 min if not just slip driver a drink,if u mix it up 2.3 cube means approx 4tons ballast and 20 cement costing aprox 270 and hire of mixer if you havent got one.the only advantage of mix yourself is you can lay it a your own speed and get a nice finish.
