Jacob27 3
NOW this could turn out to be very interesting,i heard of this litter some time back by a friend of mine in the north of ireland, not much was knowing of them, possibly to young at the time, so i said i would watch this space,i even put a topic up at the time looking to see what they turned out like, but to be honest i met a brick wall ,now i have seen alot of crosses run over the years, but this cross intrigued me greatly ,because of the minshaw blood used,i do believe young man your going to have a very good dog on your hands, and i have seen enough of the old stuff run to make that judgement , its good to see a bit of good breeding trying to come back, far to many longdog types about with nothing upstairs, anyway keep us posted on how he matures Quote Link to post

He has done all we have asked of him SO far but he has to improve vastly in one or two departments yet! I am of the opinion no matter what he does in the field he'll produce decent pups (ugly though) lol...quite possibly superior to him and his litter mates? With having four lads all dog daft you always have to think ahead in this game.ATB Andy. Quote Link to post

tia.kins 56
..couldn't agree more with your point about the keeness and maturing at some stage BUT this dog is just so bloody keen lol,he'll either learn the easy way or he'll end up worst case scenario dead!! Either way he'll get the gear thrown infront of him..no cotton wool here to wrap him up lol .Atb Andy oh and how's wee Poppy coming along now? Andy, she died in March at about 18 months age. Real shame as she had already shown me she had plenty to offer regarding taking bunnies in all forms and was keen on the wooden tops too. We were out across the moors as we always were, she put up a bunny from cover, coursed it and whilst doing so either hit a post or got mixed up with some sheep netting. Either way, she was the wrong side of a sheep fence when i got to her, having gone under it some how and was clearly in her last moments. Nothing registered from her and she was gone before i had a chance to do much at all. Exact cause of death will remain unknown but there was no obvious sign of injury apart from a tiny scuff mark on her chin and under her eye. Skycat came up with the most probably cause, dislocating the atalus bone off her skull. I think she struck at the rabbit as it made through the wire and her body kept going whilst her head couldnt. Was a long walk home across the moors that night. Anyway, i have a new youngster here, she wont be doing much this season coming, but hopefuly next Poppy....like you say, you cant wrap them in cotton wool. On a more pleasant note......those collie x youngsters really look the part. Its nice to see some strong collie biased lurchers coming on the scene are arent from the standard sources. I have always liked collies put to good lurchers as opposed to any old greyhound. 1 Quote Link to post
