FUJI 17,328
Haha,i suppose you'll be starting December then Moondog when the frost and snow is here and when owld long lugs is at it's peak will you? How do you guys get your dogs so fit when you won't run anything with them until the dead of winter? Genuine question and i'd be intrigued to get an honest answer or two off the daytime lads? ATB Andy. Quote Link to post
LAZYBSTARD 225
think you could of worded that a bit better moondog but i agree there would be very few men that run daytime hares go out killing someone elses sport at night ( rabbits ) Quote Link to post

whin 463
lamping loads of hares on small feilds with fences walls gates to stop them getting out like in the dales etc is childs play but big slips and strong hares who know the score on big open feilds well they get out lamp and some times not easy meat but a true test for any dog is a single hare in daylite on a big open park feild one dog one hare ,no lamps etc , lamping for hares is a bit of fun for food and pestcontrol and can be difficult on testing land ,thtas undulating etc ,some places hares only come out at nite woods etc so only time for a chase is nite ,or first lite otr grey dark ,but any body who lamps loads well aint no real sportsmen ,as in some places the are getting rare Quote Link to post

Big bald beautiful 1,231
My pup would take one at night but wouldnt during the day as yet,so I would run him at night....if the ban was lifted Quote Link to post
bird 9,985
most of us have lamped hares even before the ban, you might not gone out looking for them, if you are after rabbits.you could have had crap night with not many rabbits , when up pops a bugger and your dog gets a run. We all know they are alot harder in the day pre ban, but i suppose if you did knock couple over in the lamp , well its good food for you+dog. I do prefer to see them run in the day 100 times more, but with this feckin ban i dont think that will ever happen now Quote Link to post
