my brother has a bedlington whippet which has other blood in it but not sure what and that yapped from 7 month till 2 years, recently having had it out a few times it hasnt done it, maybe your dog will just grow out of it as his has hopefully, but yapping isnt the end of the world really just annoying.

My beddy/whippet sometimes yaps on his first run, and more so at the start of the season when he's not quite fully fit. Once he's nailed a rabbit, he's silent for the rest of the night. The only other time he yaps is if it's been a slow night with difficult runs and he's had a few unsuccessful attempts.

He used to yap like hell & I've learned that if the night isn't going our way, then quit while the going's good. Not great if you plan on having a full night, but when you work a dog with a problem like that you've got to know when the dog is approaching it's limits, because exceeding them will do nothing apart from make the problem worse.

Give the dog some easy runs on nights when the conditions are good, then quit while you're ahead. Things should start to improve as the season goes on. That's what worked for me..
