Put dog on lead then.? Wouldn't of took you 20mins of your dog playing with it to make you realise you couldn't catch it..

At times roe can be very stupid. Only last week i almost bumped into 3 of them on a narrow country road. Two of them bolted in front of my car then away over a hedge. The remaining one had numerous attempts to squeeze through a wooden fence. I watched it eventualy find a gap big enough to get through. It could easily have jumped the fence at any point. A fat lab could have caught it....

Just last week my mate was walking his dogs, down a farm lane, 50 yards or so ahead,there was young lads throwing stones at the rabbits in the bushes, he thought he better get dogs on lead when a lad flings a rock in the bush and a roe bolts out the bush across the path, he hoped it was going to double back into the rough but it was on a kamikaze mission and decided the best bet was across the field to the small wood at the far end. Not only are they thick but they are f***ing everywhere.

See 5 nearly every night i walk the dogs between the bypass and the railway line there is far to many about nothing but hassle accident waiting to happen

Pre ban, when I was 10 or younger, deer were my favourite quarry to run. I had a little 22" bitch that dropped chinks, muntys, roe and even fallow.
