unless you think you can breed a pup out of your own dogs, which will be better than other litters about, why breed???

So how do you work out if you have an average dog......I have never owned a half hearted dog but to someone else they might think it's shit. What kind of benchmark do you use to judge your dog....this is one of those things were everyone will have differing opinions. And if we start from the premis that not everyone can have the best dog and they all can't be world beaters then there has to be a dumbing down to some degree.

i had the dam yes i dont know about the pup your talking about but if its off me its not even 12 month old yet i never said my dogs are world beaters but i am the sort of person that lets my dogs do the talking so to speak so let us have a night out on the lamp an you can see the bitch in question an then you can make your own mind up.... i bred the bitch to the best dog i could find i have a pup off her i bred for my own use the bitch in her time as been a good dog to me an good pre ban hard bitches are hard to come by thats why i bred her...

surely all dogs will have a diffrent bench mark, i judge a dog an have a fair idea as to what it shoud or what i think it should be capable of, by the time it is a year old to 18 months...

 

an average dog that will always try, but maybe just dont make that wold beater for some reason would have a place in my kennels, but i would kid nobody myself included as to its abbiliteis..

 

then there is dogs which can do the job, but just really aint got the heart for it, then im afraid i have no time for a dog like that, after all i bring my side a thingts to the table, ie, food, kennel, excersize an any meds needed.. but i alse expect a dog that will gee me its best, everytime..

i never bull my dogs up mate the biggest critic of my dogs is me ive hunted with plenty of peeps an there dogs good bitches are hard to come by i was looking for a pup at time an decided to breed my own bitch cause i didnt see anyone with any thing that i thought was a lot better than her im happy with her shes coming up 8 years an at time couldnt find anyone with pups down that i fealt would be as good as what i thought she would produce that was her first ever litter an she was nearing 7 years at the time she had been tested beleive me an not found wanting

If i had a dog that cocked,id use on something else,if a dog carried an injury that ended its days in the field,then it would be p.t.s.I would'nt have a dog taking up kennel space that could not be used in the field,some of the more responsible owners,who care the most for their dogs,do at times have to face this choice.Ive attempted re-homing in the past and seen a much loved dog being abused and ill treated,never again.

20 odd years ago I did shoot, sell, give away dogs that were not needed, for various reasons, (biters, jackers, divorce etc).

I can see the reason for culling big litters and culling stock that doesn't meet the standards of the owner.

 

As I've got older and more mature I've realised that there is another way.

Get a missus like mine who would (seriously) divorce and probably castrate me if I did any of the above now
