no chip on my shoulder mate, wreck there land what is there to wreck they dont think nowt of driving across them same field to tell you to do one and how many lads smash through gate fences a small minority or the ones with plenty of cash in there pocket to repair there motor everytime they went out its most of it is farmers lying to make out were all scum and the worst of it is even hunting lads believe it

you're wrong, you do have a chip on your shoulder.....the farmer can where whatever the hell he likes when he's in his farmhouse, he doesn't have to make an impression on you, you need to make one on him if you're going to get anywhere. He can also drive where ever he likes on his own land, it's his f'cking land!!! there's a world of difference between him driving a 4 x 4 across his field to tell poachers to leave and some knobs driving a subaru around a field chasing a fox! what is there to wreck??? are you serious?? CROPS for starters! fences and gates, livestock. He ain't churning up his own crops when he's driving on his land, I can assure you of that! No offence pal, but you sound like you've got a major attitude problem, and it probably comes across in your body language when you're talking to farmers yourself! You sound like one of those that thinks the world owes him a favour in all honesty!

theres a chip on my shoulder because i wouldnt be grovelling for permission dressing up for the occassion the only impression i want to make is one of my normal self if he doesnt like it fair enough i no a few farmers and a couple beastmen well and to be fair a few like the dog lads some dont if i was poaching with a dog i would be doin the best i could not to draw attention to me leaving the feather alone closing gates taking whatever i got with me if they tell you to leave i leave a good few see you a few times see theyve had no bother when youve been on and not bother when they see you one farmer up my way been stopping me for the last 13 year and still asks me to leave he'll have a chat and a laugh with me strokes the dogs never rings old bill but will always ask you to move on its bred in them  all i was trying to say is i dont agree with grovelling to get permission helping with jobs dressing smart (worming your way in)

you need to impress because you're after quite a big favour from them!!!! It's not that they think they're better than you, it's that you need to make them think you're better than the chavs that wre

Fair enough pal, I'm not saying grovel though. There was a thread on here a couple of months ago though by a young lad who was wondering why he can't get permission. Turns out he was going round in tracksuit bottoms, trainers, cap etc. and then coming out with all this attitude about how the farmers should judge people by how they look, gormless beyond belief.......to be honest though, sums up the attitude of young lads today. Fair enough, (in theory) people shouldn't judge you on how you look, but common sense should prevail surely? when someone is meeting you for the first time then all they have to go on is the way you look and the way you act, nothing else. If I was a landowner and a lad came to ask me for permission in trackies and a cap, my decision would have been made before he even opened his mouth....just my opinion.

I'm not saying go dressed in a tux, but you can't seriously go dressed as a chav and then expect him to give you permission (not saying you by the way, just talking in general).

Good luck bud, just out of interest, when you're asking for permission do you mention the fact you've got three lurchers?
