Recommended Posts

when you start knocking on farmers doors ask for some ferreting not land to run the dog at first bud if the give you ferreting ask if its OK to bring a dog to mark up once your in ask about doing lamping then you should be fine then

spot on, you could ask if any little jobs he might want doing as well, you see some places just dont want lurchers on there land. Keep trying you never know you might drop lucky 1 day, and when you do ask try to look bit smart

while your there you may aswell bend over and :huh:aswell, when he knocks on the door all smart will the farmer opening it look smart aswell why people think you need to impress is beyond me there no better ,or though half the people on here are conditioned to think they are

I agree some farmers are not smart "dressed" but if you turn up chavy they may well think your some chavy yobo why risk your first impression....... I know some very scruffy/dirty looking farmers and if you turned up in there yard looking more like your off for a kick about up the park and they would tell you to f**k off im I have seen it first hand, not saying go in full camo or a shooting jacket and breeks. I think the word im looking for is suitably dressed atb

if your willing to get dressed for the occasion do some un paid graft have someone looking down there nose at you all for some permission then i'd rather not have it

think of it from the farmers perspective, if your livelihood depended on your land and livestock, and you'd heard of or experienced people disrespecting land, destroying gates, terrorising livestock etc. etc. And then some lad arrives who can't even be arsed to make himself look smart, would you really let him on your land? would you buggery!

you're wrong, you do have a chip on your shoulder.....the farmer can where whatever the hell he likes when he's in his farmhouse, he doesn't have to make an impression on you, you need to make one on him if you're going to get anywhere. He can also drive where ever he likes on his own land, it's his f'cking land!!! there's a world of difference between him driving a 4 x 4 across his field to tell poachers to leave and some knobs driving a subaru around a field chasing a fox! what is there to wreck??? are you serious?? CROPS for starters! fences and gates, livestock. He ain't churning up his own crops when he's driving on his land, I can assure you of that! No offence pal, but you sound like you've got a major attitude problem, and it probably comes across in your body language when you're talking to farmers yourself! You sound like one of those that thinks the world owes him a favour in all honesty!
