while your there you may aswell bend over and :huh:aswell, when he knocks on the door all smart will the farmer opening it look smart aswell why people think you need to impress is beyond me there no

you need to impress because you're after quite a big favour from them!!!! It's not that they think they're better than you, it's that you need to make them think you're better than the chavs that wre

when you start knocking on farmers doors ask for some ferreting not land to run the dog at first bud if the give you ferreting ask if its OK to bring a dog to mark up once your in ask about doing lamping then you should be fine then

spot on, you could ask if any little jobs he might want doing as well, you see some places just dont want lurchers on there land. Keep trying you never know you might drop lucky 1 day, and when you do ask try to look bit smart

I got my first permission when I was 14 with my air rifle and that was on keepered land I was allowed one field but got to go on the whole shoot as time went on that keeper has since moved on I ended up becoming the keeper there and have permission on the old keepers patch as well so havin the balls to ask is worth it sometimes but i knocked on alot of doors before that just dont take it for granted if they do say yes even if its one field with nout in it the next door farm will see you trust me they are watching you and that ground might have some of the best ground around good luck all the best

gd lad you should ask if you can do pestcontrol for free rabbits or anything that bothers youre crops , then say to farmer when your not busy you can show us round ,or get a real pretty girl bird and use her as bait for farmers only usaly see munters , ahah and when hees talking to pretty girl , youre raiding his coverts ,ahah,or you can youse my name as a refrence not, get a few refrences from people who have clout then he will no your not a divi ,do abit beating ,you want farms with no shoots on it so you get free rain ,when we were young we just went on coursed all and sundrie they got fed up with us and now we are on talking terms , and life goes on ,tell them you would like a paid job as keeper farm hand hope you get on

I have to disagree if you can get keepered land get it they no every farmer as well as the contractors that work on farms so can keep you in the loop I get calls now when there cutting grain to bring the dogs and before you know it you have another farm and you didn't knock on one door

If you get on with them there word has more clout than most and defiantly more than a fellow dog man i'm afraid. It's who you know not what. At first show an interest at some local shoots its always a good start come the shooting season it don't take long to figure out where they are just offer to go beating but don't turn up in joggers and trainers they wont take you serious.

Try the national organisation for beaters if you still find it hard. Some times the direct knocking on doors works but this will work better imo atb
