The Duncan 802
yes new spring and all seals. Before I had it serviced, it was sub 9 FPe , the gunsmith said when he re-sprung it he had it up at 18 and had to pin it back! I am aware that it is a touch high, but did not want to be shooting any quarry with sub 9 FPe. I have been searching the forum and have seen a few names and tuners floating about; venom, v-mach, tench? I am thinking about having it tuned to make it a nicer gun to use, and hopefully pin it back a bit. has anyone had any experience with tuned wiehrauch's?... Actually, I've successfully hunted rabbits with a Ratcatcher producing a reliable 8.5fpe and it killed perfectly with accurately placed cranial shots at 25 yards, occasionally 30 yards. Admittedly, I prefer 11fpe or a tiny bit more. With the Weihrauch springers I've owned, once they are well 'run in', I've never even contemplated having them tuned as they go off so sweetly (in .22) that it seemed unnecessary. Can't beat pellet on pellet through a springer at 35 yards! Don't let me put you off though - I imagine a tuned HW is sublime cheers and happy hunting, Duncan Quote Link to post
deano26 16
Thank you for the advice, I was simply thinking of having it tuned to make a great rifle better. I don't doubt for a second that 9 FPe would be suitable and up to the job in hand, But with me somewhat lacking in live quarry shooting, +11FPe is more likely to produce a humane kill if I WAS to muck up a shot But after having a go with a HW100t at the gun shop the other day,(What a Rifle!) The HW77k may become a second rifle when I save some money. Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
very nice mate, but as much as you want to try not to go overboard on it and you may find you'll be shooting at thin air if you dont! Darryl Quote Link to post
