jasper65 6
The wifes canary is now around 9 years old, since we've had him he's been a star and whistles his heart out when the mood gets him, he even copied a wolf whistle from my phone ring tone I have now come across somone in the area who breeds cannaries and has a few youngsters ready to go, we was looking to bring in another cock bird but is there a way of sexing them before they actually start to whistle? the breeder has told me he has no idea what sex they are... gnipper 6,523
Some people say they can sex by looking at the vent and theres a shop by me that use a magnet on a string and i have to say thats been 100% accurate so far. I would split them on their own one at a time where they can see the others and wait and see if they sing or not or get a canary singing mp3 on your phone and see if any of them reply to it. I did that in a local pet shop and a few of the mute little buggers started singing their heads off.
