andyfr1968 772
i honestly couldnt continue to live if i killed a kid. yeah i think it would be haunting me for the rest of my days and it was his son that's a million times worse yea if i didnt take my own life, the guilt and nightmares would soon put in an early grave, either that or all the alcohol i would consume. It's really quite upset me seeing that clip. I take my two boys out shooting with me often and they bloody well do exactly what they're told but trying to put myself in that dad's situation makes me shudder. They bloke's made a feckin' stupid basic mistake and killed his little lad. It can't get much worse than that. this was not a mistake it was gross stupidity I can't argue with that, you're totally right. I will then!!!............how can that be classed as anything more than a tragic accident. The father was in no way stupid. If i was to put a standing gun in a position and he was told not to move then he did and got shot then 'that' might be classed as stupid on the guns part......i hardly think calling an 8 year old stupid is the correct thing in this instant. You certainly wouldn't say that to the mans face,, devastated wouldn't even come close. First thing to be done in that situation would be to take the guns of the Dad incase he does something silly R.I.P little man.... The bottom line is that the bloke's fired at something without knowing what it is, Lab. I'm not calling the boy stupid even though judging by the report that he didn't do what he was told, kids do daft stuff but it's down to us adults to allow for that. My post was more aimed at Keeper mate.........You have to remember that its a shotgun and not a rifle he was using. The Dad thought 100% his son was safe were he left him and he would have thought he was taking a 'safe' shot. When walked up shooting like this its instinctive shooting, very different from lineing up a rifle....... Anyway i dont see any point in having a go at a man that has just clearly ruined the rest of his life......

greg64 2,818
trigger happy, waste of a life i nearly shot my dad when i was about nine years old, infact i nearly shot him twice in about 5 minuites,i uesd to have a folding 4.10 and the firing pin had stuck out on it,so when i put the cartridge in and snapped it shut the f****n thing went off,it was pointing at the ground but was a little close for comfort ,well my dad went mental with me and said i had my finger on the trigger, anyway put another one in and did the same again,i thought my dad was going to wrap it round my head,l t was only when he put one in and it did the same that he relised the pin had stuck out, twice he thought i,d had my finger on the trigger
