Rabbit Pies For Friends

Recommended Posts

Had a night out with the one dog as the other is on the back end to an early injury.

Conditions were not great, there seems to be less and less of that "Perfect night", however I decided to get out of the house and have a little walk.

Tonight the dog had some testing runs, this particular ground was in plough in most areas, but the dog is blessed with big strong feet so the ground didn’t seem to bother him in anyway. Surprisingly there were plenty of rabbits about, and also a nice quantity of deer to be seen too. I could sit all day and watch deer, fascinating creatures!

Cloud was coming in thick and fast so I decided to stay out a little longer than expected. A few more slips added some more rabbits in the bag, one rabbit decided to continually squeel and jump enroute to it's warren, the dog stayed with this rabbit like a scud missile, zig zagging and twisting, eventually scooping it up off it's feet and silencing it. Every rabbit counts tonight as I’m making a few pies for some friends who are staying over this weekend....yes I can cook as well you know :tongue2:

The new Deben lamp again has worked well, fingers crossed it remains that way, we shall see as the season goes on.

All in all a very pleasant walk with a few rabbits in the bag that will be prepped for the weekend. Mmmmmm....

Well done Sprok!
