fry 209
loads are are as accurate as the fella shooting them i would not think there is a "the most accurate rifle" i cant hit much with out a rest of some sort, with a rest i hit most things i shoot at. you will be told over again to go and try before you buy and pick one that feels right for you, some like hw100s , some like AA410,400,200, some BSA ultras, r10s, others swear by daystates and on it goes. personal choice! its personal Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
as Fry said, it's a personal choice..... Just cos a Daystate costs over a grand new on average doesnt make them any more accurate than an HW100 or AA S410, most PCP's these days will out shoot the shooter on accuracy so for me it's the guy behind the rifle that needs to do his part as a working rifle will always do it's part. I had a BSA S10 of which I had phenominal results and only got the 2 HW100's cos they were bargains and I always wanted one. So.... get out there and try a few rifles to the shoulder and see what suits you! Darryl Quote Link to post

Marksman 934
seeing as he posted in the airgun section I'd 99% say he was on about air rifle mate although there is the 1% I usually fall in and will be wrong..... Darryl Quote Link to post

I genrally look at the topic and then click on it, if it looks interesting, and I was then confused because accuracy international was mentioned. Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Hi mate, Your question is a bit ambiguous as you are not saying what you want to use it for. You could be talking FT in which case you will want a good target rifle, HFT which will 99% of the time mean a .177 of some kind or just general hunting here where any calibre will service. If you are talking for hunting I as the others have already said would not be able to answer that question. Don’t always go on price as price isn’t the answer to accuracy in most cases (hunting rifles) and with today’s PCP rifles it’s mostly down to the man behind the trigger unit. It’s also down to how the rifle feels in your shoulder and how well it fits you. For me the rifle that I have found the most easy to shoot was a .177 BSA Ultra tactical that was Tench tuned, regged and short stroked. It cost all of about £420 total. With this rifle I could hit car dust caps at 55 lased metres and other small items in excess of 63 metres quite easily. I would have quite happily put that rifle up against any Daystate hunting rifle on the market and it would have held its own very well. The most consistent rifle I’ve ever seen over a chrono is the new .177 BSA r10 mark 2. That I witnessed shooting 10 shots with only a 1 foot per second variation. In summary the popular rifles that lads buy these days are the HW100 BSA r10 mark 2 Daystate range of rifles Air Arms S410 With some liking Falcon and FX rifles. All these rifles are capable of out shooting the man behind the trigger unit so as long as it fits you well and you enjoy shooting it and put in the range time you will be as good as you can be. villaman 9,983
HI i have HW100kt in .22 and a BSA ULTRA in.177 M/S use both for hunting. HAD the ultra regged by XTX air and shoots pellet on pellet at 35 yards zero range same again with the HW 100kt at 29 yards zero range. Both fantastic guns IMO Quote Link to post
markha 99
All my guns are accurate, its just me thats not Si' has summed it up in a nutshell. If it was me and money was no object I would still buy an AA410 as it does all I need it to straight from the box. All you get for spending more money on the top end guns is bragging rights at the bar ( and thats if anyone is bothered to listen), I have matched group sizes and sometimes bettered them on paper punching ranges against guys shooting with evos and £2k scopes etc. I know lads that shoot catapults more accurately than some air gun hunters I have witnessed! In fact I think we should all get rid of our airguns and get cattys Imagine how well your field craft would improve, think about it lads, the main talk would be of breaking strains and elasticity oh and how bets to mount a lightforce 170 to your head hahahaha Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
The answers to this one are the guns that other lads have had really great sport with are all good answers for recommendations! It's still down to the shooter how accurate is the shot on the target whatever calibre or action type his rifle may be. And how you are with controlling rifle weights and recoil management is another couple of crucial factors. I'm with Si's answer above generally, it's what you want to do with your shooting that decides what you should be looking at. But, if a recoiling spring powered hunting and target sporting rifle is what you want, there is only one, truly accurate rifle that holds it's head up high. WEIHRAUCH HW77 FULL LENGTH. .22 or .177 this rifle is a thing of frightening accuracy! I've owned and shot with just about every quality spring rifle there was and is; and this one is the absolute king of the castle! Even my TX200 .22 rifle is no match for my HW77 .22 and I've seriously tried to honestly match and outshoot each of them. Both are incredible but the 77 has it by a long way! Even a Top-Money Pre charged rifle would not phase me so much as a blink in a long range competition against my 77. A one-hole group of ten shots at 45 metres clean through inside a penny-disc IS REALLY bloody going some! There are great pre-charged rifles, no question but, for me they are TOO Light and the recoiless firing action is soulless. They are certainly no more accurate than a good spring rifle. So, I remain a spring gun man to my last shot. And the best of them all is my HW77...For me! What you must find is the best one for you too! Simon Quote Link to post
