just out of interest, what would you release???

Recommended Posts

Guinea pigs are a domestic species and releasing them into the 'wild' would be cruel and should not be done. They probably wouldn't survive long enough to establish a breeding colony due to predation. They are especially suspectible for respiratory disease and would not cope well with the wet UK weather.

I would like to see racoon on the quarry list for species to be hunted with dogs. I have hunted them with terriers in the US and found it very exciting.

Domesticated they may be but feral youngsters out of them would not be and there's no way they'd let you near them to pick them up, only their colours would show their ancestry. Same as with feral moggys, pigeons and ferrets etc. The wild boar in this country were 'domestic' as they were in captivity getting fed and watered but as soon as they get out instinct kicks in.

Hardly fecking sporting catching a bloody guinea pig is it   I'd get pine martins on the go, not for hunting just everywhere where there are grey squirrels to try and get a bit of a balance going

Bulletproof Foxes

I can't really get my head around why anyone would want to hunt guinea pigs! they're slow as f'ck, they don't bite back, they don't really do anything! I reckon even a ferret would outrun a guinea pig! When I was a kids we had guinea pigs and rabbits and even the rabbits would knock the shit out of the guinea pigs, we had to seperate them!

Merecats would be a bit of a challenge I reckon, and they live in big colonies. Can you imagine having a team of terriers and bolting about 20 of the feckers with a team of ferrets......now that would be entertaining! They'd be all over the place!!

I wouldn't kill a meerkat rob, too much like a ferret for me to kill.

I'd quite like coyotes, but along with a ban on guns and a lift on the ban on dogs.

Or some kind of antelope, like springbok.

like the idea of a springbok....feck knows what you'd use to catch on though!!! you'd have to use a greyhound with a rocket up its arse to get anywhere near!

do you think we have enough open space for the likes of antelope??

racoons i think maybe some good sport, its just the fact your dog would be [bANNED TEXT] up on it and then bang straight up a tree may get a little frustrating for the dog but then again that could happen with most game (rabbit / fox down a hole.)

I like the fact we're now discussing the practicalities of it......as if it's going to happen

- Yes Coyotes are like dogs, but so are foxes, i never said my moral argument made any sense.

- Yes i do think we have big enough space, and if not, in this fantasy land, i would just kill/deport half of our population, and start from there.

- And yes, you would need either a very fast dog, or preferably a very fast dog with very good stamina. But i think it could be / is done.

I will also give a vote for racoon. Which incidentally is also probably one of those mentioned that would be easiest and quickest to introduce.

But ALL of these introduced species would fall foul of the dick heads with guns, just like the boar here. We have f**k tons of them, and you could (past tense) have hunted them all day with dogs and had good sport and still had a lot, but instead they just got numpties with night vision to stick feeders out and shoot them from sat in a tree.

Guns are for wankers.
