Blue one 89
Dogs have better protection in the uk, than over here in Eire. Over here, if a farmer catches you on his land and you have no permission with a dog, lamping, or hare coursing, he will be in his rights to shoot it! The police (guards) over here, don't give a crap! Only time the farmer can have is gun taken away here is, if you can proove he threatened to shoot you (which some do), a phone, or cam-corder, is handy to have, in situations like this! years ago, i seen a good hare dog, shot, just as it picked up the hare, the farmer stood at the gate, watched the whole course, the dog got to where he was and the fecker shot it!! the lad that had the dog, was a traveler and all i will say is, that farmer is now paralised and brain damaged!!! steveS.Yorks 161
You dont have much chance of a legal case if a farmer shoots your dog, especially with the tories in government at the moment. If that farmer in Ireland did end up a cabbage i bet not many dogs ever got shot in that area again, food for thought. 1 Quote Link to post

scothunter 12,609
F*** THE FARMERS and who would grow the crops, and give us the beef on our table.yes there are some angry farmers.just like there are angry people in all walks of life.reading past posts on lads stealing thier ferrets, and putting in there vehicles windows and slashing there tyres, cutting fences,no wonder some are a bit f*****g angry. The upshot is he distrusts everyone. ive said this before,if a farmer/keeper shot my dog in a field where there was no livestock,i wouldnt be best pleased.if it was chasing sheep (which no of dog of mine would do) then tbh that farmer would be doing you a massive a favour 1 Quote Link to post

bird 9,936
i suppose the bottom line is if you are some where you (shouldnt) be, you take the risk of getting pulled by the police , or getting heavy handed farmer + keeper, that could end up the dog hurt or killed, its name of the game. You carnt really say alot , because you are trespassing and law would back the farmer +keeper. The best way to get back at these kind of people, is hit them in the pocket, you can only be a good farmer +keeper if your product (is there in the 1st place) its strange how things get lost at night .
