tresspasser1 13 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 Went for a mooch with my mate Sunday night I took me 12 month lurcher pup. 1st slip I gave him he spun a rabbit an fell really awkward, he came back in a bad way.. I got him up vet the next morning an the crest of his knee as broke off.. I have just got him back out the vet today an the vet said he should get back to normal they have wired the the piece of bone back on I am pig sick as the season as just started.. An my pup is out for 6 to 8 weeks Gunna give the pup a chance. Has anybody had any similar problems???? Quote Link to post

My old bitch broke her knee cap and had it wired together never held her back. She eventually had it removed and still continued to catch game. It did eventually take it's toll on her and she retired at 9 only to be flattened by a bus. Quote Link to post
shellfish 63 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 my old dog broke is knee years ago he was pinned and wired i thought it would be the end before it started he was 6 months old when it happened i was a bit unsure on is first outing but he was still running at 11 and catching it was is back right knee he broke he did not turn as tight on the right side but overall he was one of the best dogs i have owned he was worked hard on all quarry and in all weathers.hope he comes good for you tresspasser. atb Quote Link to post
sweeper1gg 4 Posted September 6, 2011 Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 :cray:Yea sorry to here that.my old girl hit a tree stump last season she had broken her leg and shoulder,she had to be put to sleep. then a few weeks later my patt pup got a bit of bone stuck in his bowel,so he had surgery and now he's fine.but i tell you something the vets are super expensive as the bowel surgery cost me £750.00 anyhow they are worth every penny.
