Is all about run too catch ratio if the dog runs 12 rabbits and comes home with 10 happy man, You can only catch whats there 30 rabbits anit nothing if its had too run 80 too get 30 catch my drift,

Enjoy been out lads we all get old one day.... As long as the pots full and she feeds herself happy days

THERES a slight flaw in that theory tiny,, you say catching 30 is nowt if they ran 80,,, ide say the dog had great staminar if it ran that many, and was obviously on hard to catch land,,, such as you and i have here in the midlands, on winter weat with thin hedges..

i think the point your trying to make is if your on easy ground, and the dog has a poor catch rate

7 is the most I've had, but he's 3 & his first two seasons were interrupted by injury to him, requiring dew claw removal, and two knee operations which I only seem to get called in for in the winter. If he makes double figures this season at all, I'll be happy seeing as I can only manage short sessions.

Thats the point i was trying to make tomo, Poor catch rate i could of said 2 out 15 runs or the like, Yip for any dog too run 80 rabbits require a real good stamina that was just an exerggerated amount i was refering too,

Down here in northamptonshire is simialar (Apart from the grazeing land for cattle sheep ect) to what you've said big open crop land with with thing hedges with setts every where and them rabbits are a 100 mph for the minute there running and dont break stride even when hit there sets, So i know what your saying can make even the best lampers look average

Iam just saying i like a decent catch dog catchs to run ratio, You know your self tomo theres places you can go and you struggle to get 3 out 10 on certain rabbits on a certain bit of ground (like you say open crop land), Then take the same dog too some where where the grounds different maybe rabbits where stone walls are or sheep netting ect and you get 20 out of say 30 runs on the right bit of ground... I dont travel much so lamp within a 10 mile sort of radius iam happy getting 10 on foot
